CIIM San Francisco held the first in a series of roundtable discussions
CIIM's San Francisco Chapter held the first in a series of roundtable discussions at Perbacco Restaurant on Septermber 9, 2008.
Guest of honor was Roberto Dutto, Founder and CEO of Paramed s.r.l. (Genova, Italy) and Paramed Medical Systems, Inc. (Boston, Massachussets), a leading independent manufacturer of magnetic resonance imagining (MRI) machines for a broad range of applications, including orthopedic diagnostics. Paramed competes in both the European and the US markets against the likes of Phillips, GE, and Hitachi.
The dinner meeting was co-hosted by Claudio Tarchi (Vice President, Merrill Lynch) and Antonio Valla (Partner, Gilliss Valla & Daslin, LLP), and attended by Roberto Crea (Founder & CEO, CreAgri, Inc.), Giacomo Marini (Founder & Managing Director, Noventi), Giorgio Dorin (Director, Iridex Corporation), Ilena Facchini (Director, Bio-Rad Laboratories), and Daniele Poggetta (Campbell Alliance and President, Associazione Bocconiani). The lively discussion centered around Paramed, its products, and Mr. Dutto's career in Italy and the US, and provided opportunities for an exchange of ideas and contacts between East Coast-based Italian business and leaders of the Italian business community on the West Coast. Of particular interest were the exchanges between Mr. Dorin and Mr. Dutto on the ophthalmic applications of MRI technology, and the business model discussions with Mr. Marini and Dr. Crea.
Additional events will follow, starting with high-tech roundtable scheduled for January 2009.
